Funny, because if Mr. Salsberg cared so much about the Environment, he wouldn't operate two boats that contribute greatly to the noise pollution on the Hudson River at night in NYC. I have persaonlly be woken up every night this week by the Queen of Hearts, one of the two boats that Affairs Afloat (Steven Salsberg's company) charters. I also found the conference very good. I followed your comments on twitter as well. While you have a good point about citizenship-related obligations, I still believe in the voluntary aspect of CSR which includes job creation. I wouldn't want to see businesses being obligated to create jobs. I'm a staunch believer in the free movement of money

I was a bit disappointed, though, that the "Job Creation" panel didn't seem to tackle the hard ethical problem of whether job creation is an obligation for business. I never thought that Copenhagen would do jack. I don’t think that the governments are nearly as powerful an agent for world change around global warming as the corporations. It’s just a matter of efficiency and motivation. It’s why FedEx works better than the Post Office and why investing on one’s own reaps greater returns than social security. Those are all good points, but I have the question of what responsibility do corporations have for venue shopping? While corporations do not have responsibility to enforce foreign laws, they do have responsibiltiy for choosing to operate in countries where they know the laws are ambiuguous and the enforcement often non-existant
